About Florence Ukpabi

I love God. I've always loved Him but I didn't always believe He loved me and that caused me to either work really hard for approval in all my earthly relationships or keep a wall between me and anybody else who looked dangerous to my sense of self. It was a lot of work and I wasn't surprised when I fell ill. God held me by the hand and took me on a journey into His heart and there I found a God who truly desires to bless us abundantly and overwhelm us with His infinite love. We can do all things through Christ/Messiah who strengthens us.

Living out the Great Commission {We Must Go}

Making my way home from church, with the sun shining down, the heat beating against my skin and the sound of Tim Hughes’ “God of Justice” playing in my ears it happened, I was struck once again by the pull towards the Great Commission. But since that time the pull has been different. I’m not sure about you but I’ve always thought of it as a global thing, in the sense that we have been all called to do the same thing. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of Continue Reading →

How living in a Women’s Refuge changed my Life

what living in a refuge taught me about freedom

Up until a month ago, I was living in a Women’s Refuge, I had been living there for about 16 months. It doesn’t really matter how I got there, that’s not what this post is about. What this is about is what being at the refuge taught me, what it did for me and how it transformed me. As difficult as the experience has been on so many different levels, looking back I can see it as one of the most empowering, liberating and loving steps I have taken to support my own journey of growth, healing and transformation. I Continue Reading →

Do not Conform to the Patterns

romans 12 2 if most of your life you've been told to go left and it seems God is telling you to go right, of course, there's going to be a struggle!

In this post I want to talk about how we conform to the world and how that is impacting on our ability to live a truly abundant life. I was listening to a training by one of my favourite faith mentors the other day and he said something insightful that led my mind down an interesting journey. He was commenting on how from the moment we are born that God has given us the ability to imagine and fantasise, for example, if you keep kids away from the TV, mobile and tablets they will begin to use their God-given imagination Continue Reading →

3 Passover Reflections to Transform your Faith Walk

3 Passover Reflections to Transform your Faith Walk

Good Friday has come around again and I’m in a reflective mood. I’m actually thinking about Passover because technically that is what Good Friday is, a celebration of Jesus as our Passover Lamb. Have you ever considered these words from Revelation 13: 8, that the lamb was slain before the foundation of the world and also in 1 Peter 1: 2: “He was appointed beforehand to this before the foundation of the world and was manifested at the end of times for you;” No matter how busy I am, as soon as the time draws closer to Resurrection week, my Continue Reading →

Your Heart knows the Way

your heart knows the way

Dearest one,   I want you to know that your heart DOES know the way and the answer.   So many times the Bible speaks of the contrast between a hard and softened heart. A hard heart is closed off, wary and fearful, a soft heart is open, embracing, willing to learn and expansive.   The Bible also says that the heart is deceitful, who can fathom it – but if you look closer at the Hebrew, the Bible isn’t saying that the heart is wicked or evil but more that it is crooked or that it is skewed and Continue Reading →

What pursuing “Mr Right” taught me about Success and Failure

What pursuing "Mr Right" taught me about Success and Failure

Not only is this week the week of love but hey, it’s Valentine’s day and it’s got me thinking about important lessons from relationships especially what I’ve learnt in the pursuit of “Mr Right”. As they say, the way you do one thing is the way you do everything, so that means you can learn about success and failure in other areas of your life from the way you do relationships. So in this post, I’m sharing some of my learnings with you. You may not know this but I met my ex-partner when I was 18 years old and Continue Reading →

“Vision Boards” in the Bible

"Vision Boards" in the Bible

Yesterday I discovered two things, firstly an example of “Vision Boards” in the Bible and secondly that Vision Boards were made popular by the book ‘The Secret’. Before I realised either of these two things I had already been using visual imprinting for several years and had seen it work in different areas of my life. As such I have a good scientific basis of why and how it works so felt very comfortable using it in the work I do with clients. For many years mainstream Christianity has shunned the use of vision boards because of its association with Continue Reading →

Your Biggest Why and Breaking through Resistance

Breaking through the dam of resistance

I’ve had wake-up calls before. For instance, falling ill changed my life but it took time and I went down really, really low before I could even begin to see any light at the end of the tunnel. Yet, as much as I have grown and changed over the years I still struggle with resistance. I hear people say that you need to have a BIG WHY in order to overcome your resistance, I get that. But let’s take a moment to think about what resistance really is. Resistance is defined as the impeding or stopping effect exerted by one material thing Continue Reading →

How I’m using my LifeScore to Transform my 2018

Joshua 1:8

I recently took Michael Hyatt’s LifeScore Assessment, I’m a sucker for quizzes, tests and assessments at the best of time so I couldn’t say no to trying this one and actually, I thought it was intuitive, simple and had a good level of ‘face validity’. So in this post I’m going to share a little bit on my results but mostly on what I learnt from them, how it’s going to inform my 2018 goals and why I think this is a great starting tool to help you make amazing shifts in 2018 (and no I’m not an affiliate, I Continue Reading →

Pursing Change vs becoming the Change

Pursuing change vs becoming the change

A lot can happen in 365 days, in fact, you’ve probably realised at some point that your whole world can change in just one moment!  That’s why I’ve been thinking a lot about change and readiness recently. For example, the Bible talks about being transformed by the renewing of the mind and the re-creating of the heart, and likewise that our body prospers just as our soul prospers. All of this points back to a need to change at an intracellular level before it happens on an extra-cellular level, in a nutshell, it means that you are first required to change Continue Reading →
