One thing that you really need to know about me is, I am a “Disruptor” – I am not an advocate of the status quo because I believe that if you let it, society and the expectations of “community” can be a prison.
For many years it was a prison for me, a prison where I was under the belief that I had to conform and fit in to be accepted. I hid the things that made me unique and special and instead accepted the labels of “weird”, “bad” and “wrong”.I allowed myself to accept the labels and judgements of other people around me so that my voice drowned out and I became too afraid to listen to myself let alone trust myself.
You see sometimes it’s the people who want to keep us safe or who think they know better than us who are actually the most dangerous to your growth and development. And some of the biggest perpetrators of this were the communities that I belonged to and held in high esteem, the black community, other women and last but not least “the churched”.
As I learnt to “re-become” who I AM, I discovered that I didn’t need the acceptance of these people especially if their acceptance meant losing the bright light inside. I’ve lost a lot of so-called respect and esteem along the way and yes judgement has come my way the more I’ve moved out of the norms of these groups but I am also freer, stronger, bolder and more confident. I shine more brightly because I have allowed myself to.
I understand now that my MISSION, VISION & PASSION has always been such a simple one “LIBERTY”. Freedom from the fears, strongholds of beliefs and other people’s expectations that stop us from being who God not only says we are but who we REALLY are deep down inside.
When Moses spoke to Pharoah he said: “God said, let my People Go”. In Hebrew Egypt is called Mitzraim, it means bondage. There are so many of God’s people still in bondage today but it’s the bondage of a slave mentality, a victim mentality, a conformist mentality, a mental disposition that means not only are you are afraid to break the norms of society and allow yourself to shine, you don’t trust who you could be outside of those chains because it all feels too different, to unknown, too scary.
Fear is a liar and it’s also a tormentor and I say Not. Any. More
The only chains that hold us back are the ones we say yes to. That’s right, if something is holding you back it’s because you’ve given it permission to.
So I am a Disruptor and I’m proud to be so.
I believe that when the Word says do not be conformed to the patterns of the world but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that this is more than separating yourself from the ways of the world. It means to come out of the prison of the world because whilst you’re in it you can’t shine, you look just like everyone else because you’re hiding your light under the basket. You can’t do the work that only YOU have been called to do because you’re not being you.
For such a long time my focus was on John 10:10 abundance of life and it served me well and got me to the next stage in my transformation journey, but I realised something. Unless you are free then you can’t truly experience Abundance of Life.
So I’m all about moving from conformed to transformed, coming out of bondage and into the wide open planes of promise where you can plant the seed within you and start bearing good fruit.
I believe that you, yes you are a powerful, powerful woman of God and that your SHINE doesn’t have to look like it does for anyone else. All you have to do is choose to follow your truth.
I could go on about my qualifications, my past work or the change and new trajectories I’ve given to past clients but all of that is not really important. What IS important is my passion, commitment and drive to help you not only stand in your truth but to OWN it.
I would love to help you, let’s do this together.
